A partly cloudy, warmer, a bit less humid and slightly wet weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Friday July 7 2017

Friday was cloudy in the morning and slightly wet (0.17″) that turned partly cloudy and warmer in the afternoon, as temps rose up in the mid 80s after the usual muggy warm low 70s mins during the early AM hours. The Taylor Max/Min thermometer continues to have problems and I could not get a max (or a min) out of it again today. At 0341 we have partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the slightly less humid low 70s. The minimum temperature from the balcony VP2 (72.9°) was recorded at 0635 while the maximum temperature (86.6°) was recorded at 1752. Dew point temperatures dropped a bit from yesterday, ranging from 73° to 63°. Relative humidity values also dropped (93% – 55%).  Barometric values lowered today, ranging from 29.91″ at 0000 to 29.78″ at 1801.

I got up in the early afternoon today to participate in the weekly rummikub game downstairs We had a very cordial, fun 4 person table for a few hours. I worked on a lot of pictures for Marty, processing them into PDF files that are much easier to work with. I had cereal with a banana along with coffee for a late brunch right after the game. I also chatted with Tracy very briefly during the game. After the game I talked with Ray and Marty, who is planning on coming over for a visit on Saturday.  Later for dinner I had the leftover turkey cheeseburgers along with potato and orzo salads. I then caught up a bit with my email and watched some baseball. I had prune juice and regular low-sodium V8 before dinner with some triscuits and a dessert klondike bar much later.  I continued to work more on the newly “hatched” Weatherquack weather website which should be fun in the coming months.  I hope to see many of you soon on Weatherquack http://www.weatherquack.com – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period.  I dropped off a lot of recycling material on my way out to reading my rain gauge just prior to midnight.  I also drank some from my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have partly cloudy, dry skies overnight with temperatures around 70° at 0341.  Saturday, Sunday and Monday look to be partly to mostly sunny and dry, with highs in the seasonable mid-upper 80s and lows in the 60s to around 70° (Monday). Monday looks partly sunny with perhaps a few scattered clouds and hotter, with high temps in the low-mid 90s and lows in the lower 70s.

On Channel 4 radar at 0345, there appears to be no rain returns throughout the 4 state mid-Atlantic region at this time.
