partly cloudy, a bit cooler and dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Monday June 26 2017

Monday started out quite clear and sunny. Fair weather cumulus developed during the heat of the day, even though temps were even a bit cooler than they have been. There was no rain today. High temperatures only rose during the sunny afternoon to around 80° after a cooler early AM min in the low 60s. My newly acquired Taylor Max/Min thermometer maxed out at 91.2°, once again too high of a temperature to officially be my high value for the day. At 0530 we have partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the lower 60s. The minimum temperature (62.0°) was recorded at 0550 while the maximum temperature (79.8°) was recorded at 1648. Dew point temperatures lowered more today, ranging from 58° to an even lower 46° than yesterday’s comfy value. Relative humidity values were roughly the same as yesterday’s (70% – 34%). Barometric values rose a bit today, ranging from 30.09″ at 0841 to 29.97″ at 2128.

I got up mid afternoon today to get an (overdue) shower and get some backlogged response email out, along with finishing up my May weather summary, sending it out on email to the NJWO a few hours ago. I had granola and shredded wheat cereal and sliced banana with coffee for a late brunch. Later I just had some leftover pizza and beans from the other day for dinner. I had prune juice and spicy V8 before dinner and a klondike bar well after. I continued to work a bit more on the newly “hatched” Weatherquack weather website which should be fun in the coming months. I hope some of you out there will join in the fun soon on Weatherquack http://www.weatherquack.com – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period. I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have partly clear skies with temperatures in the lower 60s at about 0530. Sunny and still nice on Tuesday, with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 50s. Wednesday will be sunny and a bit warmer, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s. Unfortunately Thursday and Friday will be really warming up again, with highs in the low 90s and lows around 70°. Still hot up in the low 90s on Saturday but with partly cloudy skies and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

On Channel 4 radar at 0545, there are scattered showers to our W and NW up in the mountains of western PA, western MD, and central WV, and sprinkles in parts of southern MD, along with more significant showers in Western New York State. All this action appears to be moving eastward/northeastward which should therefore miss our area to the north.
