A partly cloudy, warm and dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Sunday June 25 2017

A partly cloudy, warm and dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Sunday June 25 2017

Sunday started out quite clear and sunny. Fair weather cumulus developed during the heat of the day, even though temps were cooler than they have been. There was no rain today. High temperatures rose during the sunny afternoon into the low 80s after a mild early AM min in the upper 60s. My newly acquired Taylor Max/Min thermometer maxed out at 83.3°, only slightly warmer than the other thermometers at my disposal. At 0500 we have clear skies with temperatures in the lower 60s. The minimum temperature (68.5°) was recorded at 0603 while the maximum temperature (81.9°) was recorded at 1551. Dew point temperatures lowered more today, ranging from 64° to a really comfy 49° (later in the day). Relative humidity values also significantly lowered today (74% – 33%).  Barometric values bounced back today after those low TS caused low readings yesterday, ranging from 30.04″ at 2328 to 29.95″ at 0402.

I got up mid afternoon today to get ready for the somewhat larger 1600-2000 grocery delivery from Safeway, which came right at the start of the 4 hour window at 1600. I got all the food put away by 1630. . I had some cereal and coffee for a late brunch. I caught up with a few things with email before finishing up dinner preparations.  I started chicken in the crockpot before going to bed last night with cream of mushroom soup, then started adding other ingredients to the pot in the late afternoon including additional mushrooms, onions, garlic, and a variety of spices. I also added basmati brown rice right to the pot, as there was still quite a bit of liquid left. Just an hour before serving, I added a bag of broccoli florets, then just prior to eating on my plate I sprinkled a bit of shredded cheese on top of my plate. It was delicious! And I have plenty left over!  I had prune juice and spicy V8 before dinner and a klondike bar well after. I continued to work a bit more on the newly “hatched” Weatherquack weather website which should be fun in the coming months.  I hope some of you out there will join in the fun soon on Weatherquack http://www.weatherquack.com – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period.  I also helped out another weather enthusiast on some semi-technical weather questions dealing with dew point and air temps and relative humidity, particularly when the dew pts and air temps get very close to each other, and the relationships that have to thunderstorm formation.  I also worked more on compiling stats and inputting more data for my May 2017 weather summary report for the NJWO. I have all basic statistics compiled and computed now, all I have to do is look it over later on Monday and put together a written summary for May. I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have mostly clear skies with temperatures in the lower 60s at about 0450.  Monday should feature highs around 80° with partly sunny skies and lows in the upper 50s. I am really looking forward to Tuesday according to the forecast right now – partly cloudy with highs in the upper-mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s with a 20 POP for an isolated shower. Sunny and a bit warmer on Wednesday, with highs around 80° and lows around 60°. Unfortunately Thursday will be really warming up again, with highs around 90° and lows around 70°.

On Channel 4 radar at 0500, the Eastern US is pretty clear of any meaningful rain radar returns at this time.
