A partly cloudy, a bit warmer and more humid but still dry weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Wednesday June 21 2017

Wednesday was a partly cloudy day, with some good fair-weather cumulus buildups in the afternoon, a bit warmer and a bit more humid, but dry.  High temperatures rose today with strong sun into the upper-mid 80s after a not a still somewhat comfortable early AM min in the upper-mid 60s. My newly acquired Taylor Max/Min thermometer maxed out at 99.0°, too warm for an official high temperature.  At about 0615 we have partly cloudy skies just after sunrise (first full day of summer, longest daylight of the year) day with temperatures in the low 70s. The minimum temperature (67.6°) was recorded at 0618 while the maximum temperature (87.3°) was recorded at 1559. Dew point temperatures rose a bit  today, ranging from 71° to 62°. Relative humidity values rose a tad today (90% – 43%).  Barometric values were roughly the same as yesterday’s values, ranging from 29.99″ at 0000 to 29.91″ at 1808.

I got up late today, as I took plenty of Tylenol 3 for my neck pain that allowed me some good sleep. Mike delivered some good food from Tracy today, some smoked mac and cheese with sausage, and stuffed pepper “inside” ingredients. My neck was better, and I finally got going and moving around. I watched some baseball, and the Yanks broke their unfortunate 7 game losing streak, beating the Angels up in Yankee Stadium 8-4. I talked with Tracy before she started work at 5 PM, and then later on with Ray about the weather happenings of the week.  I then had dinner of the smoked mac and cheese warmed up in the oven with a few added mushrooms and a drizzle of milk, covered in foil to keep it moist. I also took the stuffing and since I didn’t have any green pepper for it, I cooked zucchini in the oven, scooped out the insides and combined it with the stuffing and returned that mixture to the 4 zucchini “boats” to further warm up in the oven, along with a drizzle of shredded cheese for added flavor. It was delicious! I had a few triscuits and pepper cheese well after dinner plus prune juice and spicy V8 before dinner. I got quite a bit of email out and a few odds and ends on the phone.  Tom Kierein has now retired and did his last TV weather show on Washington DC’s Channel 4 at noontime Wednesday which I caught much later on the station’s website. I continued to work a bit more on the newly “hatched” Weatherquack weather website which should be fun in the coming months.  I hope some of you out there will join in the fun soon on Weatherquack http://www.weatherquack.com – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period.   I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have partly sunny, dry skies with temperatures in the low 70s about 45 minutes after sunrise at 0630.  Thursday should heat up again with partly cloudy skies and highs around 90°, lows in the low 70s. Friday looks cloudy and wet, with an 80 POP for showers/storms as the remnants of TS Cindy approach the area, and give us a 100 POP for showers/storms on Saturday with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s. It should clear off, at least partially, on Sunday with highs in the upper-low 80s and lows around 60°

On Channel 4 radar at 0656, the rains associated with TS Cindy, which made landfall this morning along the TX/LA coast, are now found in many areas in the deep south, reaching north into TN, GA, and the Carolinas at this time.  There are also some showers/storms in areas of the Upper Midwest, mostly in northern MI and WI.
