A partly cloudy, warmer, dry but humid weather update for West Rockville Maryland for Saturday June 17 2017

Saturday was a partly cloudy, warmer, dry but still a quite humid day. High temperatures rose today with some sun to the mid 80s after a still warm early AM min in the low 70s. My newly acquired Taylor Max/Min thermometer did better with the building clouds shielding the full sun’s rays at times, maxing out at 86.9°, still a bit too warm but better. We had building cumulus in the warm, muggy air in the afternoon. At about 0640 we have cloudy skies with temperatures around 75° 45 minutes after sunrise. The minimum temperature (72.6°) was recorded at 0416 with the maximum temperature (85.9°) was recorded at 1720. Dew point temperatures were even higher than yesterday, ranging from 74° to 67°. Relative humidity values were roughly similar to yesterday’s (88% – 57%).  Barometric values were a bit lower than yesterday, ranging from 29.90″ at 0908 to 29.82″ at 1731. No rain fell today despite showers being in the DC region and the clouds looking rather ominous at times. Dew points remained in the low 70s most of the afternoon and evening once again, while temps rose into the 80s with more sun than yesterday.

I got up in the late afternoon after a few phone calls woke me briefly earlier in the late AM and early PM. I had a late brunch of cereal and sliced banana and 2 cups of coffee. I watched parts of the Nats/Mets game in the evening, won by the Nats 7-4.  I then cooked chicken enchiladas in the oven for about an hour, and added the last avocado to the old guacomole along with the rest of the pico di gallo and spicy salsa. The guacamole was still quite excellent and garnished the hot chicken enchiladas quite well. It was totally yummy. I have plenty of the enchiladas left over, but the guacomole is all finished up. I worked on some email in the evening and also researched my picture files for old pictures of my Dad for posting for Father’s Day, along with a picture of my mother who would have been 94 today if she was still alive.  I also had some prune juice and hot and spicy low sodium V8 before dinner and some cashews and Triscuits well after dinner. I continued to work a bit more on the newly “hatched” Weatherquack weather website which should be fun in the coming months.  I hope some of you out there will join in the fun soon on Weatherquack http://www.weatherquack.com – it is completely free and easy to use once you complete your registration and a short ramping up period.   I also drank a good part of my ginormous water bottle throughout the evening and early morning hours.

We now have cloudy skies with temperatures around 75°  at 0650.  Sunday should reach the lower 90s for high temps with a 40 POP for showers/storms; lows in the evening should be in the muggy mid 70s. Monday should be cloudy with highs in the mid 80s, lows in the mid 60s, and a 90 POP for showers/storms, some of which may be severe so they say. Tuesday and Wednesday look  to be sunny with scattered clouds at times, dry (10-20 POP) with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the lower mid 60s.

On Channel 4 radar at 0700, there isn’t any rain showing up in our four state mid-Atlantic (MD/DE/VA/WV)  region at this time. Showers can be found in parts of the midwest, to the north over WI and MI, and parts of OH, IL and IN and down south in parts of AL. There are some showers out in the Atlantic off the North Carolina coast.
